Curses!

Just in time for wearin' o' the socks with cold weather, I get a blow out. My kingdom for a seamstress who knows how to darn socks and has some Supersock Champlaine Sunset! Darnit!

First Cold Weather

Wow, we've got the first cold weather of the Fall here in Florida today and it's great!!!

Today, I've been adding a few gadgets to this blog thing and gradually learning all the ins and outs of blogger. So bear with me.

I spent the morning at Really Knit Stuff working on the newsletter contacts and then knitting...Knitting not on the bag full of projects I brought with me in the 3 bags but instead on the KPS child's pullover out of Jarbo Raggi which sits at the shop waiting to be a shop sample. This pattern is addictive and this yarn is so pleasing.

Alas, the youngest child (13) has come home from sleep over and wants me to forsake my favorite chair and the coziness of this quilt to take him to purchase something. The negative response from his benevolent dictator brings on a slur of mumblings. Geesh, Paradise lost.

Why "Do What?"

Since we lost Dad this past June, I somehow felt compelled to restart a blog, but just wasn't sure. I knew if I did, I would title it "Do What?" It's one of my found memories of Daddy who I find myself missing a lot lately. Daddy always had a hard time admitting he was hard of hearing and would often request us to repeat what we said by saying...."do what?" It then became a big game and fun teasing to say "Do what?" when anyone ever said or asked for something. So out of extreme respect and love for Eugene (MyGene, as little Bonnie used to say) I restart blogging. Dad ,would never read this since he wasn't into computers at all, and simply tolerated me and Mom and our pc geekdum. Daddy I love you and miss you bunches. But like you and hunting, I'm doing what I love outside of work. Here's to you Daddy (yes I'm sneaking an adult beverage.)

The blog needs to include everyday life stuff, knitting, and my two teenagers who make me crazy and proud all in the same breath. I hope I'll be better about posting pictures and bloggin once or twice a week. This becomes more of a personal journal, a place to vent and laugh and cry and show off.
